Over the last 19 years I've done a lot of sewing. I made my first wall tent in an apartment smaller than the tent, with an old commercial
treadle sewing machine. I still have that sewing machine and the tent is still being used.
This website contains the majority of the products I make, but when you do custom sewing, anything is possible. If you want it, and it
can be made out of fabric, I generally can make it. My custom sewing has included everything from snowmobile and ATV covers to
fish-weighing bags for tournament fisherman. Even specialty dog beds can be made. I enjoy the challenge that the customers bring to
the table. I also do a lot of repair work, from wall tents that bears have gone through to boat covers. Basically, I can repair anything that
is made of fabric.
My tents are my speciality. I hunt and fish the mountains and plains of Montana, living in my tents for as many as 40 days a year. Over
the years I've learned several things. First, there is no better product to use than good old canvas. I've tried most other fabrics, but
always come back to canvas. When hunting in these mountains you get wet, either from snow, rain or just perspiration; sometimes all
three in the same day. Either way you're wet! With clothes, gloves, hats, and boots to dry out; all that moisture has to go some place
when the old woodstove is cooking. Canvas is the only product that will breath enough to let everything dry out and for you to stay
warm. That's why all my tents and tipis are made from canvas. The second thing I've learned is to create quality products that will
withstand the elements of wind, snow, rain, heat, and cold. I use 36" wide-10.10 oz. or 13oz. Marine Grade army duck canvas. I could
use wider canvas and it would take a lot less time to make my tents and tipis, but when you roll and double-stitch your seams, you
create a stronger section within the canvas to use for your rope tie-downs.
I like to work with the customer so there is no order form, credit card form, or any form. If you are interested in my products e-mail me
or call me and we'll talk about them; then make the order over the phone.
Shoot straight, stay warm, and give me a call for all your tent, tipi, and fabric-products needs. -Marvin Hansen
